I've worked in page layout and print design for four years, creating award-winning designs for the Sunflower yearbook and poster designs for local businesses and organizations.
I've also developed skills in digital design, creating works formatted for email, e-commerce, social media, and more.
Branding
Developing aesthetics, brand standards, and designs for various groups.
I grew up in Lenexa, Kansas, a medium-sized suburb about 20-30 minutes away from the Kansas City area. My dad taught me art and some Photoshop basics at a young age, and it all grew from there.
I started my freshman year at Emporia State in August of 2013, living on campus in the dorms. At this point, my major was undecided, but I'd fluctuate from Spanish education to marketing before finally changing over to a graphic design major.
I began working at the Sunflower yearbook in October 2013 as a design assistant, and by December, I became the Design Editor. I worked in that position until fall 2017, when I became Editor in Chief of the publication.
Recently, I've been working to create my own brand and develop a personal aesthetic, and acheiving this by creating designs in my free time. I get inspiration from artists old and new, from art history to Instagram. I'm looking forward to broadening my horizons and skills as I continue to work with design.
